In October 2025, large-scale production of "green hydrogen" was launched in Tokyo.
TOKYO LIP BALM is a breakthrough product crafted with ingredients powered by this locally-sourced, zero-emission green hydrogen.
While hydrogen is best known as a clean energy source, it also plays an essential role in the manufacturing of many everyday products. Expanding the use of green hydrogen beyond energy applications unlocks new possibilities for a more sustainable future. Let's take the first step together toward making this green future our new everyday standard.

Lip Balm and Hydrogen?
Hydrogen has gained attention in recent years as a clean energy source for the future, but did you know that it is also widely used as material in products we use every day? Because of its ability to harden oils and remove odors, hydrogen plays an important role in the production of cosmetics, vitamins, and many other everyday products.
Lip balm is made from a blend of various ingredients. One of the ingredients used in TOKYO LIP BALM is “hydrogenated polyisobutene”, a synthetic emollient oil.
Polyisobutene is originally a highly viscous liquid. Adding hydrogen through a process called hydrogenation makes the ingredient more stable.
